Introduction

The growth of women Women Entrepreneursentrepreneurs in the United States continues to outpace the growth of total new companies. Women owned firms are not only impacting the economy, but are also reshaping the workplace, the nation’s business networks and our culture. Technology Outreach at Nussbaum provides resources vital to the formation, and continued growth and stability, of women owned businesses. City of Greensboro Minority and Women’s Business Enterprise Program
The MWBE Program provides minorities and women equal opportunity to participate in all aspects of City contracting and purchasing programs, and prohibit discrimination against a person or business in pursuit of these opportunities on the basis of race, color, sex, religion or national origin.
Greensboro Chamber of Commerce Small Business Development Center
Works to strengthen the small business environment in Greensboro and Guilford County to encourage new businesses and expansion of existing businesses. The Center includes internet stations, sponsors educational programs, publishes newsletters and guides, offers networking and selling opportunities such s the highly successful Piedmont Triad Business Showcase and Business Connections Marketplace.
The Association of Women's Business Centers (AWBC)
The Association of Women's Business Centers (AWBC) is a national not-for-profit organization representing women business owners and women business centers. The AWBC was founded in 1998 to support entrepreneurial development among women as a way to achieve self-sufficiency, create wealth and to expand participation in community economic development through educational, training, technical assistance, mentoring, development and financing opportunities.

Women’s Resource Center
Serves as an information and strategy center for women in the community and offers: free attorney hotline, monthly legal lunches, talk on business start-up, confidential peer counseling, resource and referral services, including community resource boards, a library with business and career information and a 5 station computer lab.
