INTRODUCTION

Minority EntrepreneursMinority-owned companies represent a growing segment of America’s economic system comprising over 15% of non-farm businesses. Access to business development resources is critical to fostering new minority business enterprises, and to maintaining and strengthening existing firms. Technology Outreach at Nussbaum is dedicated to helping minority entrepreneurs and inventors move ahead in today’s knowledge-based economy. MINORITY BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT RESOURCES
Carolina's Minority Supplier Development Councils, Inc.
For ethnic minority owned businesses, the Carolinas MSDC is your link to potential business opportunities with over 250 member corporations and public agencies locally, and many of the leading corporations across the United States.
City of Greensboro Minority and Women’s Business Enterprise Program (MWBE Program)
The MWBE Program provides minorities and women equal opportunity to participate in all aspects of City contracting and purchasing programs, and prohibit discrimination against a person or business in pursuit of these opportunities on the basis of race, color, sex, religion or national origin.
East Market Street Development Corporation
EMSDC has funding available for many of the real estate development initiatives associated with East Market Street Revitalization such as building and landscaping improvements, road construction realignment, and parking lot renovations. EMSDC Site and Façade loan program lends up to ,000 for façade and landscape improvements; Real Estate loan program provides gap financing to augment other sources of capital for new business development in the EMS corridor. Cooperative efforts between EMSDC and East Market Merchants Association to help existing and start-up businesses with planning, accounting, marketing, advertising and legal concerns. Workshops and individual consulting provided to corridor merchants and prospective entrepreneurs at no charge.
Greensboro Chamber of Commerce Small Business Development Center
Works to strengthen the small business environment in Greensboro and Guilford County to encourage new businesses and expansion of existing businesses. The Center includes internet stations, sponsors educational programs, publishes newsletters and guides, offers networking and selling opportunities such s the highly successful Piedmont Triad Business Showcase and Business Connections Marketplace.

The mission of the National Indian Education Association is to support traditional Native cultures and values, to promote Native control of educational institutions, and to improve educational opportunities and resources for American Indians, Alaska Natives, and Native Hawaiians throughout the United States
The Nussbaum Center for Entrepreneurship, Inc.
A private non-profit corporation whose mission is to enhance economic development in Greensboro and the surrounding area. The incubator is designed to support non-retail, new or emerging businesses in the service and light manufacturing arena. The Center provides modestly priced office and light manufacturing space along with shared support services such as business counseling, receptionist, copier, fax, mail boxes, word processing, etc.
